The idea for Live Sport Now began in 2018 with the aim of giving lower tier sports a higher level broadcast feel with people at the centre of the coverage.
It’s no secret that top level leagues have vast budgets to create in-depth onsite broadcasts with specially designed studios and countless cameras and as many people as required to make it tick.
But what if there is a way to replicate that further down the pyramid?
What if there is a way to broadcast/present your sport to a professional level without the eye watering costs?
What if there is a way to control your own rights, build your own audience and monetise it that way.
That is what Live Sport Now is all about
That is what Live Sport Now is all about.
Our co-founder Ian Waterhouse, was working as a feature article writer for a golf company as well as working as a Premier League match reporter on Saturday’s for a well known red top when the idea of Live Sport Now was born.
With a deep understanding of sports coverage and working in top flight leagues and further down the pyramid in Football, Motorsport and Golf, Ian saw a huge gaping market for sport to utilise content and live streaming.
Not just as a marketing cost, but as a way to gain sponsorship, build an audience, give opportunities to teams and players to monetise their own brand and take a sport/team/event to a level it thought wasn’t possible.
How did we do this?
Originally we started with one camera, one distribution platform.
We were fortunate enough to get involved with a brand new Endurance Motorsport Series starting in 2019 called EnduroKA and made the idea real.
In March that year at Donington Park we went LIVE for the first time prowling the pitlane, interviewing teams and drivers and giving the viewer a look at Motorsport further down the pyramid they had never seen before.
It was a huge hit and that year saw us hired by EnduroKA, MSVT SuperCup, MSVT Trackday Trophy, 116 Trophy, Civic Cup, and the 750 Motorsport Club to provide LIVE coverage.
With Motorsport proving a success and Ian’s background in Golf it seemed wise that would be our next move and so it proved.
In 2020 we took our broadcasting to the 2020 protour, and the Clutch Pro Tour before The Faldo Series and England Golf came calling. Since then we have gone on to work multiple spaces providing live and recorded content for numerous sports such as Handball, Korfball, Arm Wrestling, Football and Rugby.
However, it’s not just sport we are involved in.
We produce, present and distribute The Auction Show with Clive Emson Auctioneers and provide LIVE coverage for the Disability Expo, and Quartet of Nations International Barber Shop annual competition.
All this from an idea to make sport even better and a single camera.
